Guangtai Medical Surgical Trolleys Help Enhance Primary Healthcare Capacity in Bangladesh

    2026-05-26

From Africa to South Asia, Guangtai Medical’s mobile medical equipment continues to support capacity-building in primary healthcare and public health across countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. According to the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, on April 22, a handover ceremony for China’s donation of a mobile surgical vehicle was held at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Bangladesh. Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen and Bangladesh’s State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Muhith attended the event and delivered remarks. Officials from Yunnan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, the Yunnan Provincial Health Commission, Yunnan Fuwai Cardiovascular Hospital, and the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Bangladesh, along with experts from the medical fields of China and Bangladesh, also took part in the ceremony.

This mobile surgical unit was jointly donated by the China Association for International Exchange of Non-Governmental Organizations, the Hong Kong Life‑Saving Foundation, and the China Rural Development Fund. Manufactured by Guangtai Medical, it will, with the support of institutions such as Fuwai Hospital, provide public‑health services—including medical screenings and surgical procedures—to remote areas of Bangladesh, helping to strengthen local primary‑care capacity and emergency response capabilities.

Ambassador Yao Wen stated that China–Bangladesh friendship and cooperation are people‑centered and future‑oriented. This donation of a mobile surgical vehicle represents another practical collaboration between the two sides, following the establishment of the China–Bangladesh Joint Cardiovascular Disease Clinic, and will enable rural Bangladeshi communities to access high‑quality medical care close to home. State Minister for Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh, Muhith, expressed his gratitude for the Chinese donation and highly commended the mobile surgical vehicle’s vital role in enhancing emergency response capabilities and improving primary healthcare services.

From Tanzania to Bangladesh, from emergency care to primary‑level medical services, Guangtai Medical is leveraging mobile medical equipment to bridge the gap between high‑quality healthcare resources and the needs of remote communities. Looking ahead, we will continue to collaborate with international partners, harnessing China’s advanced manufacturing capabilities to enhance global access to healthcare and contributing practical, tangible support to the joint development of health‑care cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
